What to expect
Structure, with room to enjoy learning.
Lessons are shaped around the learner’s reason for learning—not a rigid routine. The balance of conversation, explanation, practice and play changes with the language, age, level and goal.
What a lesson may include
- A short recap or conversation to settle into the lesson.
- Useful words and expressions practised through speaking, listening, reading or writing as appropriate.
- Stories, visuals, simple games, culture or real-life situations when they support the learner.
- A recap and optional practice idea when helpful.
Not every lesson uses every activity. Formal tests and exam-style work are included only when they suit the learner’s goal.
How a tutor match is checked
For languages outside our in-house Mandarin expertise, Language Grove does not pretend to judge fluency alone. Our matching checklist considers:
- Identity, professional background and communication.
- Teaching experience, references and any relevant qualifications or proficiency evidence.
- An interview and sample lesson, with an independent proficient speaker or assessor involved when an additional language check is needed.
- The learner’s age, goals, schedule, preferred format and learning style.
You receive the proposed tutor’s relevant background and the complete arrangement before committing. A match is never guaranteed merely because a language was requested.

Meet our founder
Chidera Igboanugo
Language opened a new world. Now, that world is shared.
Chidera is a University of Lagos graduate in Chinese Studies who spent two academic years studying at Soochow University in Jiangsu Province, China.
Her experience spans teaching English to children and adults in China, teaching Mandarin in Nigeria since 2020, and working across translation, procurement, customer experience and operations in Chinese-led businesses.
Language Grove grew from her love of Mandarin—and the belief that the right teacher, thoughtful support and a personal learning plan can make any new language feel possible.

Every student receives a quotation that confirms the programme, schedule, payment arrangement and package validity before lessons begin.
How and when do I pay?
Payment arrangements are tailored to the programme. Your quotation will specify a prepaid package, payment per lesson, or an approved monthly billing arrangement.
After you accept the quotation, Language Grove sends the relevant payment instructions privately. Bank transfers are made to the Echo Bloom Alchemy Studio business account. Lessons may be paused when an agreed payment becomes overdue.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes. Give at least 24 hours’ notice and the lesson can be moved once, without an additional charge, subject to tutor availability.
With less than 24 hours’ notice—or when a learner does not attend—the lesson is charged or deducted from the package. Genuine emergencies may be considered at Language Grove’s discretion.
What happens if the tutor cannot teach?
The learner does not lose the lesson. Language Grove will arrange a new time or apply the lesson as a credit. We aim to give at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible.
How does package validity work?
Each package has a completion period based on its number of lessons and intended frequency. The exact validity appears in the quotation. Properly rescheduled lessons and tutor cancellations do not unfairly shorten that period, and approved pauses may receive a written extension.
What if someone arrives late?
A learner who arrives late normally finishes at the original end time. If the tutor is late, the missed teaching time will be made up or credited.
How are children protected?
A parent or guardian is the primary contact for every minor. Scheduling, payment and important lesson communication go through the adult, and tutors must not have private or inappropriate communication with children.
Do you guarantee every requested language?
No. Language Match requests are subject to tutor suitability, availability and an agreed quotation. If we cannot make a responsible match, we will tell you clearly.

When you enquire, you choose to send Language Grove your contact and learning details so we can respond, prepare your consultation and coordinate the service you request.
For a Language Match request, only the necessary learning and scheduling details may be shared with a proposed tutor after the match has been discussed with you. We do not sell your information. Messages sent through WhatsApp or email are also handled under those providers’ privacy terms.
